Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Cuxson Gerrard & Company Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year: 2021
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Cuxson Gerrard (CG) is using 2021 as the baseline year, assuming no significant change to operations. CG record Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. For Scope 3 CG record Category 4 Upstream transportation and distribution; Category 5 Waste generated in operations; Category 6 Business travel; Category 9 Downstream transportation and distribution.

Emissions reduction targets
CG’s current target includes plans to reduce emissions from the 2021 baseline of 310.4 tCO2e by 34% by 2031. From baseline to 2022 CG has reduced its emissions by 17.8% and is therefore on good track to achieve this target.
Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2021 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equates to 55.3 tCO2e, a 17.8% reduction against the 2021 baseline, and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.
- CG switched electricity supply to a renewable sources contract ensuring zero carbon emissions.
- CG invested in new technology advancements to the incinerator reducing carbon production.
- LED lighting introduced in areas needing change.
In the future CG hope to implement further measures such as:
- Further use and upgrading of Environmental Regenerative Thermal Oxidiser
- Waste reduction
- Updated localised water boiler
- Introduction of further absence and presence detection lighting.
